Job Description
This position is for a Security Engineer in the Application Development team who will assist in modeling, implementation, maintenance, documenting and supporting consumer facing applications.
Essential Functions
- Oversee security requirements and support the design and implementations of Application platforms.
- Design, propose and review new solutions & implementation, and provide functional and technical support for program, project and core needs
- Evaluates current global and technology specific processes to determine process improvements, and how best to gain more effectiveness and efficiency
- Takes a leadership role with data protection use, implementation and delivery
- Proactively drives team collaboration
- Mentor team on learning new technologies, uses cases and implementations.
- Review, update and create encryption policies, procedures and technical security requirements in collaboration with the Security Architecture teams
- Takes a leadership role with coordinating internal / external industry audits in collaboration with Visa internal teams
- Takes a leadership role in Reporting & implementing changes needed for industry compliance
- Takes a leadership role in Reporting to management industry trends and recommendations
- Lead and participate in projects to deploy new Data Protection applications and services
- Ability to support and work non-traditional work hours, not limited to weekends, and evenings
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office two days a week, Tuesdays and Wednesdays with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
• 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
• Understanding of encryption technologies for data at rest, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI) and implementations for private and shared data centers as well as various cloud platforms
• Understanding of PCI and Payment industry requirements
Preferred Qualifications
• 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
This position has a minimum base salary of $114,500 and a midpoint base salary of $148,800. The base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, this position is eligible for annual bonus and equity.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
