Job Description
The Technical Writer will be responsible for all customer-facing documentation for our consumer authentication platform. The Technical Writer is a highly cross-functional role that will include working with many internal and external teams to gain critical feedback and allow us to quickly iterate our technical documentation. The Technical Writer will be accountable for our developer center experience, taking ownership of the content published and ideating new ways to engage with our customer base. This role will establish new processes of collaboration for content publishing, assist in migrating content management platforms, and engage with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver a best-in-class integration experience for our merchant product platform.
Essential Functions
Write, edit, and publish high-quality developer-friendly documentation for a technically skilled audience of developers, solution engineers, and architects
Lead technical documentation strategy and execution
Become a solution expert and serve as a key link between engineers, technical product managers, and customers who integrate into our platform
Proactively lead the engagement with Product, Commercialization, and Marketing teams to deliver documentation and training sessions with internal stakeholders
Inventory all documentation, interview stakeholders, and develop a plan to execute on the documentation strategy
Help guide our documentation and developer engagement strategy, such as understanding the competition and building prototypes
Engage with product delivery teams to build documentation on new features & functionality
Lead migration efforts from our existing docs site to a new developer center
This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications
- 2 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD, or PhD)
Preferred Qualifications
- 3 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or more than 2 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g., Masters, MBA, JD, MD) - Strong product development skills with a sound understanding of payment technology, risk and fraud management, other ecosystem requirements
- 3 years of technical writing experience or technical product management experience
- Hands-on experience with APIs and cloud-based technologies
- Experience with online software documentation platforms
- Experience with documentation management systems for team collaboration
- Knowledge of Agile and project management tools such as Jira, Confluence, Lucid chart
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple workstreams
- Demonstrated ability to think strategically and effectively communicate and present to an audience
- Previous experience in end-to-end developer-friendly API documentation
- Ability to use data and feedback to drive decision making
- Knowledge of authentication and/or authorization processes in payments industry
- Experience working in cross-functional collaborative environments

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.
Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 74,000.00 to 94,400.00 USD, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.
