What are the responsibilities and job description for the Representative position at VisionPoint Marketing?

VisionPoint Marketing is looking for a driven and ambitious sales professional to join our team as a Business Development Representative (BDR).

This role will be responsible for sourcing and qualifying potential clients within the higher education space. We’re looking for someone with a strong understanding of the sales process and who is also skilled at developing new relationships.

We are also open to candidates who have a recent background in college admissions and may want to transition into a sales career that still serves the higher education field.

The BDR will be the first point of contact for prospective clients and should have excellent communication skills and the ability to understand client goals, thus setting up our sales team for success.

Engage with potential client partners by having meaningful and informational discussions regarding their needs with the goal of creating meeting opportunities with other sales team members.

Research and find new potential sales outlets, and build and nurture warm prospects. Manage VisionPoint’s pipeline (primarily through our CRM, Hubspot) of prospects and work with other sales team members to push them through the sales funnel.

Be responsible for achieving designated goals for lead generation. Support VisionPoint’s own marketing efforts by finding and soliciting attendees for webinars, conference sessions, etc.

Track key performance metrics (lead generation, conversion rates, sales targets) and prepare regular reports for leadership.

Continuously expand your knowledge of the higher education industry, as well as VisionPoint’s service offerings. Who You Are 1-2 years of experience in an BDR or similar role, or experience in college admissions.

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or relevant field, or equivalent experience. Hands-on experience with multiple sales techniques.

Proven track record of achieving lead generation quotas. Experience with CRM software (Hubspot experience is a plus). Proficiency with MS Excel (analyzing spreadsheets and charts).

Understanding of sales performance metrics. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong time management and organizational skills Ability to build strong relationships.

Experience in or selling to higher education institutions is a huge bonus. A Quick Note Research shows that people from underrepresented identities often hesitate to apply for job opportunities if they feel they do not fulfill all of the listed qualifications.
