Job Description

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Marketing Associate to join our team. The Marketing Associate will play a key role in executing marketing strategies to attract visitors, drive tourism, and enhance the visibility of Delaware County as a desirable destination. The Marketing Associate will work closely with colleagues to coordinate marketing efforts and ensure alignment with organizational goals. In addition, the Marketing Associate will build relationships with local stakeholders, visitors, residents, and partners in the hospitality and tourism industry.

Responsibilities

1. Content Creation – In conjunction with Visit Delco Director of Marketing, develop engaging and compelling content for digital and print marketing materials, including website copy, social media posts, blog articles, newsletters, presentations to the Visit Delco Board of Directors, and promotional materials. Organize and maintain Visit Delco video and photography virtual library.

2. Social Media Management – In conjunction with Visit Delco Director of Marketing and Ad Agency, manage and maintain active presence on social media platforms (e.g., Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn) to increase followers, engagement, and brand awareness. Create and schedule content calendars, monitor analytics, and respond to comments and messages.

3. Campaign Execution - Assist in the planning, implementation, and tracking of marketing campaigns. Collaborate with internal colleagues and external partners to ensure campaigns are executed effectively and within budget. Fulfill prizing elements from campaign sweepstakes.

4. Market Research: Utilizing in-house research software, pro-actively create reports to identify trends, competitor strategies, and new opportunities for promoting Delaware County. Use insights to inform marketing strategies and target audience segmentation.

5. Graphic Design Support – In conjunction with Director of Marketing, provide support for graphic design projects, including creating visuals for digital and print materials, photo editing, and layout design. Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite or similar design software is preferred.

6.  Grassroots Marketing Lead – Represent Visit Delco at community events, interacting directly with visitors and county residents. Assist in the creation of and manage and organize an inventory of branded giveaways and promotional products and materials created to make the Visit Delco brand tangible to visitors, residents, stakeholders, and partners. Serve as the promotional liaison to stakeholders and partners utilizing Visit Delco marketing materials and branded giveaways.  

Qualifications:

·        Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Hospitality, or related field.

·        Professional experience in marketing, preferably in the tourism or hospitality industry.

·        Strong written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail and ability to tailor messaging for different audiences.

·        Proficiency in social media management tools, content management systems (CMS), and email marketing platforms.

·        Basic knowledge of graphic design principles and proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite is a plus.

·        Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

·        Passion for travel, tourism, and promoting local destinations.

·        Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends for events or promotions.
