Director of Indian Wells Tourism
The Director actively develops, communicates, and implements the Indian Wells Sales Strategy and Marketing Plan. The Director works with the internal VGPS sales, marketing and destination teams, the Indian Wells partners and the City of Indian Wells to conduct and utilize research, develop media plans and implement marketing programs focused on driving awareness and increased revenue to Indian Wells Collection and the City of Indian Wells.

Strategic Initiatives - The program of work will be established by the City of Indian Wells with direction and input provided by the Indian Wells hotels.
- Work with the hotels and the city to prepare and guide sales & marketing strategy and media plans with input from research and VGPS.
- Work with VGPS to utilize research to address identified barriers and perceptions to increase awareness for consumer and group segments. Identify any new recommended research needed as appropriate.
- Work with research to identify new opportunities and consumer preferences to support media plan and campaigns. Manage agency and overall budget of the IW media plan.
- Identify new events to attract additional visitation. Assist with development and provide marketing support for new events in IW.
- Monitoring of annual trends and ongoing analysis of consumer attitudes and behavior.
- Attend community events, city council and hotel meetings as necessary.
- Ensure efficient and effective communication between all individuals, vendors, teams and departments.
- Provide reporting on status, timeline, and results of all projects and initiatives.
- Pro-actively identify and assess new opportunities and developments in media consumption and viewpoints that may impact the City of Indian Wells in the short and long term.
- Generate innovative strategies to promote Indian Wells brand and products to business groups, travel agents, tour operators and receptive operators.
Group Sales & Marketing - Group sales and marketing include both convention related business as well as tour operator, travel agent and receptive operators.
- Lead/Participate in strategy sessions to identify customer and prospect sales opportunities to support hotel partner’s goals and objectives
- Track and measure marketing outcomes including marketing activities, leads, sales, retention, and ROI
- Facilitate regular updates to city and marketing partners.
- Continue to liaison unique SITE inspection experiences with IW partners.
- Manage Indian Wells social media strategy and channels with agency.
- Represent the Indian Wells Collection at trade shows, sales missions, and client events
- Work with an agency to evolve and enhance marketing to the meetings market.
- Liaison and assist hotels with VGPS group leads.
- Develop and maintain content for group segments.
- Host IW focused FAM’s to increase exposure to meeting planners.
- Manage external vendors/agencies related to research, social media, content developers and special projects.
Consumer Marketing
- Develop a marketing and media plan targeting the consumer segment, develop and uncover new opportunities for the city and hotels to maximize resources and effectiveness.
- Create new materials to support seasonal campaigns and overall destination marketing efforts
- Manage Indian Wells Tourism facing website as part of Visit Greater Palm Springs website. Implement new consumer content and updates as appropriate.
- Manage Indian Wells social media strategy and channels with agency.

- Strong knowledge of online communications strategies and tactics, usability standards, branding and latest digital technologies, tools and best practices
- Experience in tracking and analyzing key metrics such as engagement and sentiment
- Knowledge of social networks, online communities in the hospitality industry, content management systems and relevant mobile applications
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
