Vista Insurance Group is looking for a full-time Insurance Administrative Assistant, a proficient task master, to be the link to keep the Columbia office humming and processes running smoothly. This role assists in coordinating systems to ensure workflows work properly so agents can provide the best service possible, while providing administrative support to agents, answer general questions, data entry, and gathering information.

The Insurance Administrative Assistant sits in our Columbia, SC office, which is a full-service independent insurance agency serving business and personal lines clients. This is a great opportunity to break into the insurance industry or for an experienced administrative assistant looking for continuous learning and potential for growth.

Insurance Administrative Assistant Requirements:

  • Resourceful and enjoys being a master of tasks
  • Process driven mindset, following and perfecting processes
  • Excellent professional and clear communication (verbal and written)
  • Proficient typing skills with a high level of accuracy
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Two to three years of administrative experience
  • Highly proficient computer skills with ability to learn agency systems
  • Proficient multi-tasker with ability to accomplish tasks accurately with frequent interruptions
  • Proactive customer service excellence, helpful attitude, and follow through
  • Good follow-up and follow through skills
  • College degree preferred
  • Willingness to learn niche insurance industry
  • Aspirations to become an insurance agent, a plus

Insurance Administrative Assistant Responsibilities:

  • Answering the phone and greeting visitors
  • Following daily checklist to process documents from insurance carriers
  • Outreach to banks and other institutions for verifications
  • Assisting clients with billing questions, claims, change requests, certificates of insurance
  • Following agency processes, procedures
  • Taking accurate notes in agency system client files
  • Supporting agency marketing activities
  • Appointment setting, maintaining files, scanning, and other administrative duties.

Vista Insurance Group is a fifteen-year-old family-owned boutique style independent insurance company. Vista Insurance Group services businesses and individuals throughout the greater southeast and the eastern seaboard for all their insurance needs by offer them multiple carriers to get clients the best coverage and price. They have locations in Columbia, Charleston, and Harrisburg.

All offers of employment are contingent on passing a background check.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
