Role Purpose:
The CAD Designer plays a crucial role in creating precise 3D models and detailed drawings as part of VISTA’s new product development and engineering change processes. As an integral team member, they provide support and leadership by optimizing engineering activities and processes. Their continuous search for improvement contributes to the overall effectiveness of the engineering team.
Requirements:
- Associate Degree or Equivalent Experience: A degree in drafting or a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience is preferred.
- Clear Technical Writing Skills: The ability to communicate complex technical information clearly.
- Proficiency in SolidWorks: Mastery of this CAD software is essential.
- Drafting Standards and GD&T: Familiarity with basic drafting standards and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T).
- ERP Knowledge: A thorough understanding of ERP systems, specifically Business Central.
- Vista Core Competencies: Demonstrated alignment with VISTA’s core values and competencies.
- Attention to Detail: A high level of precision and thoroughness.
Key Responsibilities:

3D Modeling and Detail Drawings:
- Utilize CAD software (including VISTA and customer standards) to create accurate 3D models and detail drawings.
- Ensure compliance with all requirements.

Engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs):
- Develop complete and accurate BOMs to support project execution.

Collaboration with Engineering Team:
- Coordinate closely with the Engineering team to ensure timely project completion.

Drawing Review:
- Thoroughly review drawings for completeness and adherence to engineering specifications.
- Strive for error-free designs.

Support Vista Quality Objectives:
- Adhere to all requirements that contribute to VISTA’s quality objectives.
