Duties:
- Assist patients in selecting and fitting eyeglasses and contact lenses
- Take accurate measurements of patients' eyes and facial features
- Interpret prescriptions written by optometrists or ophthalmologists
- Educate patients on proper eyewear care and maintenance
- Adjust frames to ensure proper fit and comfort
- Process orders for eyewear and contact lenses
- Perform repairs and adjustments on eyeglasses
- Maintain inventory of eyewear and supplies
- Collaborate with optometrists and ophthalmologists to provide comprehensive eye care services
Experience:
- Previous experience as an Optician in a retail or medical setting
- Proficiency in using optical systems, such as Epic, for patient record management
- Familiarity with medical billing processes related to vision care services
- Knowledge of pediatric eye care and the ability to work effectively with children
- Strong understanding of retail math principles for pricing and sales
Skills:
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with patients and colleagues
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and fittings
- Strong problem-solving abilities to address patient concerns or issues with eyewear
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy
