PRIMARY PURPOSE:
This position is responsible for supporting the accounts payable functions including invoice processing, resolving purchase orders, preparing checks, reconciling, and reporting. Position plays a key role by providing analytical insight, attention to detail, and ensuring payments are aligned with company policies and GAAP. Accounts Payable Analyst should continuously identify process improvement opportunities and drive changes to improve department operations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all assigned duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of leadership.
Provides quality customer service to all internal and external customers.
Partners with department leaders to develop processes and procedures. Executes continuous evaluation of current processes and offers recommendations for process improvements.
Manages positive pay, ACH/Wire/Zelle payments, and other payable related banking functions.
Performs testing as needed to support systems updates, integrations, or any software implementation that impacts the accounts payable department. Acts as liaison for all payable related projects including EDI.
Prepares journal entries, including accruals for monthly activity.
Prepares accounts payable related reconciliations and recommends appropriate adjustments to leadership. Prepares annual 1099s and manages process accordingly.
Provides support, performs research, and prepares schedules/documents for internal and external audits.
Prepares and distributes analytical and statistical reports to managements.
Performs ad hoc analysis as directed.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Knowledge/Education
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
Licenses/Certifications
None
Experience
Five years related experience required.
Healthcare background preferred.
Large ERP AP system experience preferred.
High volume/multi-entity experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities
Ability to work in a collaborative environment and with all levels of staff and leadership.
Ability to handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to execute multiple priorities and a variable workload throughout the month.
Effective oral and written communication skills.
High level of accuracy, attention to detail, efficiency, and accountability. Proficient in Excel and other financial tools and systems.
