What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lab Tech I position at Vitalant?
As a Laboratory Technician you will help prepare all blood components for delivery to our hospital and patient. You will perform a variety of tasks and processes based on laboratory need. Every day you’ll be having fun making a measurable difference in your community.
What to Expect -Schedule: We have two options available.
Days: 6:45 AM -3:15 PM -works every other weekend (5 day work week)
Evenings: 2:45 PM -11:15 PM-works every other weekend (5 day work week)

We’re looking for someone who we can train to:
- Assure product quality, volume, assay requirements, appearance, and time requirements.
- Maintain accurate records and computer entry for component production.
- Perform receipt of freshly drawn units and samples, and unpacks, evaluates, and routes samples for accessioning.
- Perform labeling of routine and special components and quarantine of unacceptable components.
- Maintain equipment and work areas, as assigned.
- High school diploma or GED
- Excellent Customer Service
