GENERAL PURPOSE:
We are looking for a controller to lead the accounting team through the day to day accounting functions and all accounting systems, oversight of accounting policies, financial close of all communities and the budget process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Provide leadership and management of the Accounting Department, including evaluating the department structure to prepare for future Company growth
  • Oversee the Company accounting functions, to include preparation of monthly Financial Reports for each community, Budgets, Internal Controls, Treasury, Accounts Receivable and Payable, and Financial Policy and Procedures
  • Developing and maintaining all necessary accounting policies and systems. Ensuring that all records are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
  • Review the monthly close process and provide measures to condense the monthly close period
  • Provide timely and accurate monthly Financial Reports to various ownership groups for the communities we serve
  • Responsible for the monthly reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, fixed assets, and review of monthly journal entries
  • Work with executive team to provide key performance metrics related to the performance of each community
  • Oversee implementation of all accounting systems for new communities
  • Oversee the budget process for all communities
  • Coordinate and assist with community audits
  • Coordinate preparation of tax schedules, returns and information for ownership entities
  • Assist with portfolio tracking and cash flow projections
  • Manage delivery of Investor reporting requirements
  • Assist providing reports to lending/financial institution
  • Adheres to all policies and procedures of the company
  • Perform other duties as assigned by CFO
SKILLS and QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 7-10 years of accounting and financial management experience in growth environment
  • BS in Accounting; Master’s degree preferred
  • CPA designation a must
  • Experience in Real Estate is a plus
  • Experience leading a team and implementing processes and procedures to improve operation efficiency
  • Must be detail-oriented to ensure accuracy
  • Excellent communications skills
