Description
The facilities manager is responsible for managing the design, planning, construction and maintenance of equipment, machinery, buildings and other facilities. The position plans, budgets and schedules facility modifications, including estimates on equipment, labor materials and other related costs.
Plan and coordinate all installations (telecommunications, heat, electricity etc.) and refurbishments
Manage the upkeep of production and facilities equipment and supplies to meet productivity and OEE standards
Inspect buildings’ structures to determine the need for repairs or renovations
Inspects construction and installation progress.
Initiates planned maintenance programs for a variety of office and production equipment
Review utilities consumption, supply usage, and other related costs and strive to minimize costs
Supervise all staff: Maintenance, Sanitation, and Facilities staff (custodians, technicians, groundskeepers etc.) and external contractors
Control activities like parking space upkeep, waste disposal, building security etc.
Handle service contracts, warranty, and other related agreements
Keep financial and non-financial records
Perform analysis and forecasting
Manages preventive maintenance of production and facility equipment, including HVAC and office equipment.
Supervisory Responsibility
This position supervises various employees and contracting crews, including Facilities, Sanitation and Maintenance personnel.

Qualifications
Proven experience as facilities manager or relevant position
Well-versed in technical/engineering operations and facilities management best practices
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Good analytical/critical thinking
5 years in a Facilities leadership role
4 year degree preferred
Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFM) will be an advantage
