Quality Supervisor

Overview

This position assists in developing, implementing, and maintaining a plant-wide quality system that focuses on customer satisfaction, defect prevention and continuous improvement utilizing Six Sigma techniques.  Incumbent will directly supervise Quality Technicians and Quality Inspectors while providing guidance to all plant personnel in activities concerned with quality standards relating to customer requirements.  S/he ensures effectiveness of the quality tools applications within the plant and potentially at customer sites when appropriate.

Responsibilities

• Manage Calibration System (Gages/Checking Fixtures)
• Lead LPAs deployment and assure compliance
• Collect Inspection data on daily basis and assure Inspection boards are properly filled out.
• Enter inspection data on excel file on weekly basis
• Update FFR Report (Supplier Scrap)
• Supervise Quality Tech daily activities - Review Quality Tech Checklist on daily basis
• Manage Quality Inspectors and assure coverage per Production Schedule
• Direct Supplier Scrap on daily basis.
• Coordinate Containment/Sorts in the Plant
• Perform STW Compliance Audit on EOL Inspection and GP12 Inspection
• Identify potential and existing quality issues and implement corrective actions along with line lead and production supervisor

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of related experience required
• Associates degree with focus in quality management preferred
• Working knowledge of manufacturing requirements for automotive glass production
• Knowledge of glass customer requirements and ability to relationship build with customers; working knowledge of value-add and components for both Tempered and Laminated glass; working knowledge of encapsulation and packaging requirements preferred.
• Basic math with a working knowledge of statistical procedures and ability to draw conclusions on empirical data.
• Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, and Word – document creation, charts, pivot tables, presentations and e-mail.
• Understanding of Quality Management Systems and related IATF16949 requirements.
• Strong leadership, interpersonal, communication and problem solving skills (8D, DMAIC, 5WHY, cause mapping, etc.).
