Overview
The Vitro Wichita Falls Plant is a 24 hours a day, 7 days a week operation that produces float glass for various glazing, mirror, and automotive applications for outside customer as well as other Vitro facilities.
The Plant Controller provides overall direction and guidance for plant financial and accounting functions and controls, ensuring consistency in financial reporting and processes, reporting areas of concern, and identifying and recommending areas of opportunity for improvement. The successful candidate will support the overall profitability and operational success by performing strong analytical and variance review of facility-wide productivity, inventory reduction, adherence to budget and by directing the accounting functions and related controls through accurate and timely financial reporting.
Responsibilities
This position supports the overall profitability and operational success by performing strong analytical and variance review of facility-wide productivity, inventory reduction, adherence to budget and by directing the accounting functions and related controls through accurate and timely financial reporting. Duties include:
1. Oversee plant financial reporting processes including data submission to Corporate to ensure the integrity of financial statement submissions.2. Analyze plant capital budgets to ensure consistency with capital policy and achievement of financial results.3. Analyze financial and statistical reports that reflect plant financial position and KPI’s, perform cost and operating variance analyses to identify root causes in variances and partner with other managers to identify areas for improvement.4. Coordinate monthly, quarterly and annual forecast/planning exercises between the plant and Corporate support to assess, detect and adjust to financial trends.5. Direct plant-wide inventory control and management and perform analysis of variance identified during inventory cycle counts and annual physical inventory to maintain inventory costs to budgeted levels.6. Oversee plant-wide product costing and annual standard setting process to ensure that profit margins meet company expectations for product sold.7. Facilitate the annual audit process for the plant with corporate accounting personnel.8. Continuously seek to maximize resources and provide guidance on data analytics and plant metrics for continuous improvement and best practice in overall cost recognition and control efforts. 9. Other tasks as may be directed.
Qualifications
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA is preferred), with at least five years of management experience in Finance and Accounting within a manufacturing operations environment. Strong knowledge of manufacturing data analytics, cost accounting and Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) is required. Solid analytical, planning, organizing and interpretive skills are essential.The incumbent must have a high sense of personal ethics and integrity and possess solid communication skills (both verbal and written) and the interpersonal skills required for regular ongoing interactions with plant management, staff and corporate executive management. This includes the ability to delegate, coach and develop a high-performing accounting team. The incumbent must be organized, action-oriented and results-driven.
The incumbent must be highly proficient in MS Office EXCEL, Word and Outlook; familiarity with ERP system conversion and SAP is highly preferred
