FULLY REMOTE BUT MUST LIVE IN FLORDIA
We are looking for a senior desk property adjuster for a carrier in Florida.
Position is responsible for prompt and thorough investigation and coverage evaluation of routine to moderately complex residential property claims including but not limited to Loss Assessment, Lightning, Theft/Vandalism, and supplemental claim assignments in support for Field Claim Representatives.
Essential Functions:
- The senior desk property adjuster will service property claims including insured and agency contact and follow through.
- The senior desk property adjuster will communicate and interact with a variety of individuals to foster the timely resolution of claims- including, but not limited to policyholders, public adjusters, field adjusters, internal departments, attorneys, vendors, and experts.
- The senior desk property adjuster will identify, analyze, and resolve coverage issues arising in claims investigation.
- The senior desk property adjuster will engage in factual investigation of cause of loss.
- The senior desk property adjuster will engage in the preparation and submission of detailed estimates of damaged property.
- The senior desk property adjuster will maintain proper file documentation reflecting claim adjustment.
- The senior desk property adjuster will engage in Coverage and Settlement Letters completed and reviewed with applicable parties.
Qualifications
Required Education and Experience:
- Maintain a Florida licensed All-Lines adjuster (620), and yearly Continuing Education as required by licensing division of DFS.
- 3 years of property desk claims adjustment experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional designation or degree.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Good skills working with customers.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Knowledge of property insurance policy and coverage analysis.
- Must be able to work under deadlines.
- Proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong skills and experience with Xactimate estimating program.Adjuster
Duties:
- Investigate workers' compensation claims to determine coverage and liability
- Collect and analyze relevant information, such as medical records and accident reports
- Interview injured workers, employers, and witnesses to gather additional information
- Evaluate the extent of injuries and disabilities to determine appropriate compensation
- Negotiate settlements with claimants and their legal representatives
- Review and approve or deny claims based on workers' compensation law and company policies
- Maintain accurate records of claims, payments, and settlements
- Stay updated on changes in workers' compensation laws and regulations
Experience:
- Previous experience as an adjuster or in a related field preferred
- Knowledge of workers' compensation law and regulations
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
- Attention to detail and accuracy in record keeping
