What are the responsibilities and job description for the Law Clerk/Legal Assistant position at VLF?
We are excited to offer a great opportunity for a law clerk or legal assistant to join our growing team and gain valuable legal experience. In this role, you'll have the chance to work on a variety of intresting cases, spanning from litigation to transactional law. We are particularly interested in candidates who are either currently in law school or considering applying. Initially, this is a contract position with the potential to evolve into a more permanent role for the right candidate.
Responsibilities may include:
- Conducting legal and factual research and analysis.
- Assisting attorneys in preparing legal documents, such as briefs, pleadings, and contracts.
- Organizing case files and handling data entry.
- Assisting with document reviews and the discovery process.
- Being a helpful hand in various case-related tasks as needed.
- Keeping track of hours worked and providing honest reporting.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a law firm or legal environment is a plus.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and legal software applications.
- Detail-oriented, with a talent for prioritizing tasks and managing time effectively.
- A basic understanding of legal principals, drafting and citation formats.
