About the Mission You Will Join:

You will be supporting the National Science Foundation's (NSF) Office of Legislative and Public Affairs (OLPA) by creating visually compelling graphics in alignment with NSF's communication goals and on a variety of digital channels. VMD's mission is to build awareness and promote the benefits of OLPA's vision of communicating and sharing information about the activities, programs, research results, and policies of the Foundation with internal and external audiences and stakeholders including Congress, the news media, state and local governments, other Federal agencies, and research and education communities.

Your Impact to the Mission:

Projects the animator would help support, in order of priority, include:

• 30-second animations for press releases, science matter blogs and social media
• Supplemental film footage
• 2D/3D explainer animated videos
• Fuller-length animations for major research announcements
• AR/VR development support Multi-Media Gallery (MMG) support:

Experience needed to be successful:

• 3 - 5 years of Graphic Animations experience
• 4 - 7 years overall Graphic Design, Illustration experience
• Experience in most or all following technologies, tools, and/or platforms: Adobe Creative Cloud Suite--particularly Illustrator and After Effects, Lightform Creator, 3DS MAX, Blender, Cinema 4D, Maya, and Davinci Resolve
• Experience with both traditional and digital formats
• Experience with video production, web content, and social media
• Familiarity with digital asset management systems
• Understanding of copyright and permissions
• Understanding of 508 compliance
• Confident in the ability to provide technical and/or artistic advice to staff about visual information.

Duration:

• 6 months full-time with the potential for long-term, full-time employment
