CONTRACT SPECIALIST

ABOUT THE POSITION

We are seeking a Contract Specialist to support our Department of Veterans Affairs NCO 7 client. This position can be 100% remote, and would be supporting one or more of the following locations: Augusta GA, Tucker GA, Tuskegee AL, Columbia SC, or Charleston SC.

The Contracts Specialist carries out diverse and varied acquisition support responsibilities including contract closeout. Acquisition functions shall be performed in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR), Veterans Affairs Acquisition Regulation (VAAR), and all other applicable regulations and policies.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Serves as a contract specialist providing professional acquisition support services and business aid to the customer.

· Primarily provides support in post-award functions (excluding negotiation), using a wide range of contracting methods and types.

· Prepares contractual documents using the Electronic Contract Management System (eCMS) and MS Office products required to closeout files.

· Coordinates with industry and other stakeholders to complete documentation required to closeout contract files.

· Performs most post-award procurement functions (except/including) ordering changes in contract performance or contract quantities, acting on evaluations of contractor performance, and accepting or rejecting contractor products or services.

· Completes all closeout functions including review of financial documentation and invoices to ensure 100% accuracy.

Required:

· Completed 24 semester hours at an accredited college or University, preferably in one of the following fields: accounting, law, business, finance, contracts, purchasing, economics, industrial management, marketing, quantitative methods, or organization and management

· At a minimum, 2 years of experience conducting acquisition support activities with a working knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) within a government or military contracting office.

· Demonstrated skills using Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel and Word

· Proven professional communication skills, both oral and written

· Demonstrated comprehensive research and analysis of technical and cost data

· Ability to read and interpret acquisition policy, regulations, and directives

Desired:

· FAC-C or DAWIA Level II Contract Certification

· Experience and/or knowledge of VA systems (eCMS, IFCAP, VISTA)
