Our Transportation Supervisor manages all aspects of the transportation department including selection of qualified drivers, routing, driving, safety, fleet maintenance, and customer/driver relationships. Responsible for scheduling, routing, budget administration, and safety. Responsibilities also Includes involvement with the driver selection and orientation process, handling employee relations issues including disciplinary action, managing employees and monitoring the routing process to ensure customer satisfaction..
Responsibilities:
- Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles
- Responsible for coordinating and updating daily transportation routes, vehicles used, and drivers needed to ensure the timely and safe transportation of consumers
- Use excellent customer service skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, consumers, officials, and all members of the public
- Maintain and complete accurate transportation billing
- Investigate and resolve consumer and stakeholder complaints
- Oversight and maintaining fleet vehicle warranties
- Oversight of fleet vehicle registration and licensing requirements
- Answers incoming telephone calls regarding programs or schedules
- Keep consumer demographic files current and accurate; enter new consumers as needed
- Keep detailed employee records of defensive driving and training logs
- Collaborate with other staff members to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
- Submit and review reports with supervisor
- Responsible for entering new consumers into software for tracking routes
- Interview, hire, lead, direct, supervise, discipline, evaluate job performance, coordinate activities and training, of subordinate staff
- Verify completeness and accuracy of subordinates’ work, computations, records and conformance to regulations
- Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished appropriately
- Direct activities of staff performing repairs and maintenance to equipment and vehicles
- Monitor operations to ensure that staff complies with policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations
- Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits and attending company safety meetings
- Performs minor maintenance on vehicles, including fueling, oil checks, safety checks, and cleaning
- Prepare written transportation and pre-trip inspection reports for each vehicle operated including information on number of passengers and mileage for the day
- Schedules repairs or preventative maintenance work to vehicles as needed
- Assist drivers with problem routes and/or drive when needed to ensure the timely and safe transportation of consumers
- Keep abreast of new information, innovative ideas and techniques
- Adhere to all state, local, and Vodec health and safety policies
- Conduct investigations to determine causes of transportation accidents and how to improve safety procedures to prevent further accidents
- Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer complaints
- Regular and punctual attendance during scheduled hours is essential

Minimum Qualifications:
- Must be at least 19 years of age
- Four years’ experience in the transportation industry; two years must be as a supervisor or two years’ experience in the transportation industry with an undergraduate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office software
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance
- Valid driver’s license appropriate for vehicle type being required to operate and maintain
- Access to reliable transportation for job performance as may be occasionally required
- Be able to pass a criminal background check
- Satisfactory driving record (no more than three moving violations in the most recent 36-month period)
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
