Accountant III

Summary – This position is responsible for accounting and reporting tasks for two selling companies, which are part of the Voith Fabrics and Rolls (FRS) division. Additionally, this position helps support the controller on a regional level, for all North America FRS operating sites. This position reports directly to the Senior Manager of Controlling.
Responsibilities –
- Accounts Payable:
- Provide General Ledger information for various invoices, coordinate appropriate workflow approval and verify correctness of invoices in a timely manner

General Ledger Accounting:
- Set-up standard journal entries for all North America Fabric and Roll System sites
- Review standard journal entries, update if necessary and coordinate with plant controllers on a regular basis
- Set-up non-standard journal entries for the two selling companies such as Accounts Payable (AP) accrual, reclassification entries, use tax accrual, etc.
- Review monthly numbers and identify missing bookings, inconsistencies and coordinate with Senior Manager of Controlling for the two selling companies
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations for the two selling companies including investigation of inconsistencies and providing solutions
- Prepare recharges between intercompany locations (personnel costs, Travel and Entertainment, freight, etc.) for monthly invoicing
- Manage workers compensation claims including pulling information from insurance company site, assign to Voith location and coordinate with AP department. True-up of balance sheet accrual on regular basis
- Prepare sales incentive data for Sales employee’s payroll payout
- Perform accounting at half-year and year-end closing for two selling companies together with Global Shared Service center
- Reconcile retirement plan for selling company

Reporting:
- Generate monthly headcount report for several operating sites and review allocations of headcounts to sites and initiate corrective actions if needed. Align with payroll for correct posting of personnel expenses
- Generate monthly report of marketing expenses
- Prepare financial information needed for quarterly and yearly tax filing
Qualifications –
- Prior experience in an accounting role required
- Degree in Business/Accounting/Finance is preferred – strong accounting knowledge required
- Good organizational skills, detail-oriented, ability to prioritize and multi-task, and ability to work independently
- High degree of integrity and ability to maintain confidential information
- Microsoft Excel/Word; JDE or SAP preferred
