Volt is immediately hiring for Solid Waste Recycle Tech in Chandler, AZ.
As an Solid Waste Recycle Tech you will :
- Accurately separates solid waste streams from various campus locations into recyclable and discardable components.
- Evaluates and sorts solid waste streams according to type of material, dimensions, visible markings, or other attributable characteristics.
- Accurately weighs the separated waste streams and maintains appropriate weight recordings on a daily basis.
- Collects solid waste streams from sorting and processing and places these materials into those identified dumpsters and storage containers.
- Maintains a clean work area on a regular basis, including the removal of debris from dumpsters, buildings, and property periphery.
- Conducts periodic general waste recycling events and related project work.
- Works with site team for special projects and activities which generate general solid waste and recyclables.
- Provides basic customer service when operating onsite or interacting with site employees
- Assists in program training and supports the training and mentoring of new hires.
- Collects and reports basic level of data to report daily operations and time spent.
- Oversees the management of and access to general waste and recyclable material processing areas.
This is a full time opportunity overtime when required
The ideal candidate will have :
- High School diploma or GED with 1-2 years solid waste experience or a comparable level of work experience.
- Ability to work outside and conduct work in a standing position at table height.
- Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment when managing solid waste streams.
- Basic experience with phone and email communications.
- Detail oriented with solid written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently as part of a multi-functional, geographically disperse team.
- Can manage time and priorities, effectively manage multiple tasks, and has the commitment to drive solutions.
- Must be able to successfully pass a drug screen test.
- Able to lift to 45 pounds.
Pay Rate : $19.00 - $20.00 / hr.
Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
