Our growing company is looking for an experienced Real Estate Accountant to manage accounts and provide subject matter expertise to the company, client, and property portfolios. This is a hybrid position that requires travel 50% of the time.
Responsibilities:
· Lead and manage the finance department along with our third-party accounting firm
· Create Pro Forma statements and forecasting activities for acquisitions
· Reconcile Capital Reserve Accounts
· Lead, coordinate, prepare and analyze property and corporate level budgets along with forecasting activities
· Prepare and analyze monthly financial reports for the organization, clients, and property portfolios
· Manage and ensure accuracy of all financial matters, including but not limited to ledgers, accounts, balance sheets, deposits, and reconciliations
· Ensure that all lender reporting is in compliance on a monthly basis
· Monitor the timing and quality of client deliverables
· Process wire transfer payments on behalf of clients
· Prepare financial statements and associated work product for external audit purposes
· Address and resolve financial errors or issues with staff, as needed
· Act as a liaison to client CPA firms, auditors, legal counsel, and other external parties to provide expertise of accounting practices within the multi-family industry
· Collaborate with all department Directors and serve on the leadership team to design and develop the most effective processes and methods for the betterment of the organization
· Special projects and additional duties as needed or assigned
Job Requirements
Qualifications:
· Licensed CPA, Preferred
· BA or BS in Accounting or Finance
· Minimally 5-8 years accounting experience in Real Estate accounting
· 3 years’ accounting experience in the multi-family industry
· Ensure adherence to policies and procedures and maintain effective internal controls
· Work as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies, as needed
· Possess and model our core values daily
Skills:
· Expert in Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and Procedures
· Expert with financial terms and principles
· Strong computer skills related to MS Office programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook
· Ability to prioritize, multi-task, work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
· Experience with Appfolio Property Management software is a plus
· Possess an analytical and strategic mindset
· Leadership skills to lead a team of professionals and inspire growth
· Ability to spend workday at computer or traveling to consult with clients

Pay: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
