PAYROLL COORDINATOR, MULTI-STATE
We are a property management organization who specializes in managing multi-family communities for our clients across several states. Our growing company is looking for an experienced Payroll Coordinator to process bi-weekly payroll, maintain accurate employee time records, provide subject matter expertise,
Responsibilities:
- Register appropriate tax accounts with any agencies in accordance with IRS guidelines
- Review timesheets and communicate with supervisors for corrections
- Track PTO (vacation, personal, sick) along with unpaid time off and ensure correct balances and payroll processing
- Train new hires on timekeeping and payroll practices
- Enter wage garnishments and ensure compliance on withholding amounts
- Accurately process payroll for 100 employees across 6 entities on a bi-weekly pay schedule
- Prepares and executes reports for the CPA and file retention purposes
- Completes reports and analysis for month-end purposes
- Compile the labor detail in an excel format with a salary analysis for each property
- Enter charges into the management system software for hours and salaries billed to clients
- Maintain the salary board for supervisors
- Provide reports and analysis to the leadership team as requested
- Act as a liaison for payroll matters with Paylocity
- Collaborate with all department Directors to design and develop the most effective processes and methods for the betterment of the organization
- Special projects and additional duties as needed or assigned
Qualifications:
- 2-3 years payroll experience
- Payroll Professional Certification is a plus
- Knowledgeable of federal and state payroll policies to include FLSA, NLRA, wage garnishments, etc.
- Expert in generally accepted payroll principles and procedures in multiple states, to include Kentucky, Georgia, Tennessee, and ability to learn additional state practices as necessary.
- Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures to maintain effective internal controls
- Work as a team player in evaluating and resolving discrepancies, as needed
- Possess and model our core values daily
Skills:
- Experience with handling and resolving federal and state tax-related issues directly with agencies
- Experience with Paylocity HRIS is a plus
- Possess an analytical and strategic mindset
- Strong organizational skills that support multi-tasking while working in a fast-paced environment to meet deadlines
- Strong computer skills related to MS Office programs, i.e., Word, Excel, Outlook and ability to adapt to new systems
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
