Paraprofessional - (Teacher Assistant)
Volusia County Schools is seeking paraprofessionals (teacher assistants) who can assist the classroom teacher establish and maintain a safe, healthy, and nurturing learning environment; assist students with physical and intellectual skills; support their social and emotional development; provide positive guidance; and establish positive and productive relationship while maintaining a commitment to professionalism.
Note: Elementary, Middle, & High Schools on the east side of the district are hiring paraprofessionals.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- To qualify for a paraprofessional position, potential employees must have 48 hours of college credit on file with HR or take and pass the para pro test.
- To receive the CDA rate the employee must have a CDA, degree in education or active teaching certification on file with HR.
- To receive years of experience a verifications form must be completed by previous employer(s).
- New employees will have 90 days to have the form(s) submitted to HR for processing to receive retroactive pay back to employee’s first day. If forms are received after 90 days, the higher rate of pay will take effect when form is received.
- Without the form new employees will be placed on the entry level hourly pay.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 - $16.00 per hour
