The Vomela Transportation Group has an exciting opportunity for a hands-on Production Manager to join our team. This position is responsible for day-to-day production within the print shop. Supervises, motivates, and supports employees daily, applying a team approach and maintaining open communication. The Production Manager plans, schedules, strategizes, and oversees all production activities while continually maintaining profitability. The Production Manager performs essential functions to ensure overall customer satisfaction and quality service, and establishes and maintains effective communication with employees and clients. The Production Manager is responsible for the effective and efficient planning and scheduling of personnel and equipment to reduce bottlenecks and problems.

Key Responsibilities

Safety
- Promote Safe work culture in all areas of Production
- Enforce regulations and guidelines to ensure compliance.
- Work with team members to identify opportunities for improvement and prevention.
- Promotes 5S – Workplace Organization and Housekeeping

Quality
- Communicate consistent Quality expectations to team members.
- Train and develop team members for Quality Control excellence
- Be familiar with RMA, NCMR, RCA & CAPA

Delivery
- Lead production process and develop production schedules.
- Work with Customer Service, Sales, & Leadership to ensure On-time shipping
- Lead team to run to production rates. Develop if not existing.
- Identify opportunities to minimize machine downtime.

Cost
- Monitor regular and overtime labor hours – balance with workload.
- Optimize production runs for best possible material usage and yield.
- Lead training and development plans to expedite employee contribution and reduce turnover.
Requirements

Education
- High School Diploma – Required
- Bachelor’s Degree desired. Equivalent experience considered.

Work Experience
- LEAN Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Prior experience in printing and graphics is preferred
- Previous experience in manufacturing and production
- Knowledge of machines, tools, & processes
- Ability to interpret KPI’s as feedback for opportunities
- Experience creating, following, & using SOPs
