What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, Product Manager position at Vontier?
The Director, Point of Sale will be responsible for product planning and execution, including but not limited to assessing customer needs, analyzing market trends, and acting on customers' behalf to prioritize product requirements. You will serve as the contextual expert defining the product vision, working collaboratively with engineering, sales, and marketing to ensure that projects are delivered, and revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met. The Director, Product Manager’s responsibilities include:
- Define and continuously refine a roadmap tied to organizational strategy, including milestones and phases.
- Perform competitive analysis and market research to influence the strategy of your product(s)
- Lead a team of product owner(s) to ensure proper design, roadmap execution, user story creation, and refinement for execution and backlog priority.
- Work with sales and marketing to design go to market strategy and materials.
- Package and price products based on current customer data, previous sales data, market intelligence, and other data points.
- Work with marketing to provide sales enablement collateral and training.
- Gain VOC (internal and external) on the product(s) to ensure user adoption.
- Be a product evangelist for the vision of your product(s) both internally and externally.
- Create business cases for new products/features.
- As a part of the product team, be the owner of the customer with a purpose of increasing customer engagement through products delivered.
- Experience working in the Convenience Industry with Point of Sale and Payment solutions preferred
- Product Manager experience in a SaaS business
- Knowledge of go to market strategy and execution.
- Experience in creating a product strategy and road mapping.
- Experience with product packaging and pricing in SaaS business
- Ability and desire to impact customers through innovation.
- Problem solving skills with the ability to use both quantitative and qualitative data points.
