WHAT YOU WILL DO
As a Staff Software Engineer, your contribution to the overall customer experience will be instrumental. To break it down, your responsibilities will include:
Produce high-quality technical designs and specifications.
Produce high-quality maintainable software.
Develop efficiently and accurately to specification.
Iterate specifications to satisfy requirements from other components of the entire solution.
Provide ongoing bug fixing and maintenance throughout the product life cycle.
Carry out robust software implementation.
Ensure clear technical documentation is completed.
Ensure ongoing adherence to all Teletrac Navman software standards.
Help develop generic open interfaces for third-party integration.
Identify and help specify new products, sharing information within the team.
Locate, resolve and support customer issues with existing software and systems in conjunction with appropriate support teams.
Maintain knowledge of the industry and technology developments, being aware of best practices in own discipline.
Build an understanding of client needs through regular exposure to them. Establish and maintain relationships with key contacts.
Leads designs of key software components, systems and features.
Participates in architectural review meetings, review architecture proposal and guide the team.
Focuses on technical growth of team members through mentoring. Motivate team members to get better at what they do and ensure they receive the support they might require to be responsive to customer needs and requests as well as business objectives & outcomes.
Identifies and creates work processes, methods, and standards necessary to efficiently deliver results.
Lead continuous improvement activities and encourage team members to identify ineffective processes and contribute to new ideas and ways of working.
Ensure team members comply with the agreed standards and quality assurance processes.
Align priorities and systems to serve customers needs. Increase direct involvement towards the teams mission in times of high demand or staff shortages to meet customer needs and deliver results.
Maintain a high degree of adaptability to learn new technologies and methods as needed to successfully manage the daily challenges of a technical environment and coach team members towards the same mindset.

To be successful in this role, you will be equipped with:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent relevant field and/or equivalent significant, relevant industry experience.
8 years of experience in software development using Java or .NET (WCF & WebAPIs).
Proven experience working with one or more of the following: Front-End Development frameworks (preferably ReactJS/AngularJS, JavaScript (or Typescript), Backend
Hands-on technical leadership experience leading projects and setting technical direction.
Strong knowledge of architecting and developing solutions of significant impact.
Experience with AWS or other cloud technologies in a DevOps environment.
Knowledge in designing and implementing microservices architecture and using message queue engines or streaming platforms (e.g. RabbitMQ, SQS, Kafka, Kinesis, etc).
Knowledge in the location services, GIS, or geospatial industries would be advantageous but not essential.
Experience with relational database design and performance optimization.
Good knowledge of test automation framework and continuous integration.
Worked in an agile development environment.
