Material Handler

Description

Summary

The employee is normally engaged in shipping and receiving/kit building activities including record keeping.

Essential Functions

1. Confirm parts ordered through the Purchasing Department meet the requirements set forth on the Purchase Order. Comparison of part number/quantities to the packing slips and subsequent receipt entry into the accounting system.
2. Delivery/Storage/Inventory of purchased product to designated storage bays or bins.
3. Compiling kits of material from inventory and presenting to the manufacturing process.
4. Organization/maintenance of storage bays/bins.
5. Oversee vendors maintaining min/max inventories of hardware/floor stock ordered items, make recommendations for changes, and assist in organizational efforts. Issue purchase requisitions as necessary.
6. Shipping of material and equipment as required.
7. Receiving incoming raw material, purchased components and equipment.
8. Maintaining material certifications documents for the manufacturing process.
9. Assist Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing personnel in their efforts to locate and identify purchased product.
10. Assist with efforts to return purchased product to vendors for credit including assemblage of appropriate paperwork for return shipment.
11. Oversee inventory of AGV components and assist with shipping schedules.
12. Generate selected reports as requested by manufacturing manager.
13. Keep work area clean, orderly, and safe.
14. Assist with “special” Purchasing Department projects.
15. Additional duties as needed and assigned.
16. Travel on an as required basis. 
17. Additional duties as assigned. 

Requirements

Required:

1. Proven shipping/receiving or inventory management/record keeping abilities.
2. Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
3. Motivated self-starter capable of working within a controlled environment.
4. Must be capable of perceiving variance from known Purchasing requirements as they relate to the Receiving function and take initiative to investigate and correct deficiencies.
5. Possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
6. Must be able to work with little or no supervision and accept direction from supervisory personnel and Quality Assurance personnel.
