Arwood Machine seeks an Assembler for our Newburyport, MA location.
Job Purpose
As the Assembler at Arwood Machine, located in Newburyport, MA, you will assemble, deburr and finish manufactured products, and pack them according to specifications.
Key Accountabilities
- Assemble machine fabricated metal products and assemblies.
- Debur/finish machine fabricated metal products while maintaining dimensional integrity of the parts.
- Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications.
- Use various hand tools and handheld power tools to accomplish assigned tasks.
- Use bead blaster, deburring shaker, and cleaning station when required.
- Maintain logs or records concerning product inconsistencies.
- Maintain the bench area and all equipment in the assigned area.
- Inventory tools, parts, and supplies, and contact the supervisor if supplies are needed.
- Periodically checks products per company policy to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolves any identified problems and alerts supervisor.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Experience working within a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Familiarity and knowledge in the use of hand tools and shop equipment.
- Strict compliance with EH&S policies and PPE/safety protection when and where required.

- 3 years of assembly experience in an aerospace parts manufacturing environment.
- Consistent attention to detail.

Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of standing or sitting and performing repetitive tasks.
- Must be able to lift to 30 pounds at a time.
- Must have the manual dexterity to assemble products.
- Must use safety protection when and where required.
