Position Summary: Manages a staff of supervisors and operational clericals that provide exceptional customer service, strategy and organizational excellence in order to support the distribution of apparel and satisfy the timely shipments of over 1,000 customers for PVH’s wholesale divisions.
Essential Functions of the Job:
Manage the Wave Planning and Account Planning of shipments for over 1,000 customers in a 24/5 wholesale facility Oversee inbound receipts and outbound shipments, the invoicing of all freight and maintaining accurate and organized digital and filed records of all bill of ladings Create and maintain operational efficiencies within the offices through scheduling, planning, and supervision. Oversees ad hoc projects as needed to support the business Oversee training of all office personnel and enforce proper shipping/receiving procedures to maintain safety and quality Facilitates End of Month/Quarter/Year for the Distribution Center Trains, mentors and develops supervisors’ development plans and professional growth Directly collaborate with W&D customer service and account representatives for multiple divisions to provide timely updates regarding shipments Daily partnership with Account Support and Strategic Service departments in order to resolve issues and ensure the facility and company metrics are met Develop and maintain relationships with PVH transportation team, as well as LTL, parcel and truckload carriers to ensure a proper amount of equipment and pickups are available to support up to 140 shipments per day at peak volume Sustain a thorough understanding of loading and routing compliance for customers to ensure accurate shipments with minimal charge-backs for the business Upholding all records, correspondence, documentation and photos detailing for shipments to dispute charge-backs as needed
Internal & External Contacts:
Internal: Management, supervision, hourly associates, facilities/maintenance and IT
External: Corporate and W&D offices, outside vendors, contractors, traffic, freight carriers
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Direct: up to five exempt supervisory staff
Indirect: up to 25 clerical associates including temporary associates to assist peak volume
Budgetary Responsibilities:
Shipping Sales Support: $500M – $1.5B
Salary: $500K – $1M (Hourly and Salaried Employees both PVH and temporary)
Decision Making:
Recommends overtime when appropriate. Provide high level of strategy to manage the coordination of shipments with minimal carrier failures or detention charges Continuous situational awareness and proactive decision making Provide strategic guidance to shipping floor department when loading issues are incurred Stimulates creative thinking to develop and enhance processes - increasing quality and performance of processing and shipping areas
Additional:
Some travel possible to corporate office, campus recruiting and other W&D locations Utilizes appropriate managerial techniques to motivate staff
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or similar business/supply chain degree or four (4) years management experience supporting office functions in a large distribution center. Shipping/receiving background in apparel distribution preferred.
Skills: Strong analytical and problem solving skills, WMS, Microsoft Office Suite proficiency. Strong Excel and Access experience preferred
