What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiving Inspector position at W/M Display Group?
Custom job-shop manufacturer of retail fixtures is looking for a responsible Receiving Clerk to receive, inspect and record shipments with raw material or products. You will be responsible for unloading packages and checking their contents to ensure they match the orders. A receiving clerk must have a great eye for detail and basic math skills and the ability to unload shipments as well as the clerical skills to update records and follow up with suppliers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Inspect items that have been received for correct sizing, specifications, and quantities.
· Prepare receiving packing lists and bills of lading with signatures.
· Prepare appropriate paperwork for shipments/receipts of parts to finishers/outside service providers, returned & rejected vendor goods, and scrap pick up.
· Ability to weigh count incoming materials when necessary.
· Enter received items into the computer system.
· Assist purchasing in the expediting of outstanding purchase orders.
· Contact vendors to confirm delivery dates.
· Process plating quality wire per approved procedures.
· Tag inspected/approved items and disburse to correct location.
· Provide backup/assistance to the production Material Handler.
JOB SKILLS AND EDUCATION:
· Proven experience as receiving clerk or similar position
· Experience in operating forklifts
· Working knowledge of computer programs for entering data
· Basic math and recording abilities
· Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring tools
· Excellent organizational skills
· Great communication and interpersonal abilities
· Keen eye for detail
· High school diploma
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
