What are the responsibilities and job description for the Compounder – Cure Plant position at W. R. Meadows?
JOB SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for producing batches and packaging different products.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Actively promote and practice safety
Assist lead to gather raw materials and put into the mixers to make different batches.
Package and palletizing different products that are made in the cure department including but not limited to pails, drums, and totes
Unload tankers that bring in various raw materials.
As directed, assist Lead to pull samples from the batches made, for QA purposes.
Unload empty drums when trailers come in.
Serve as backup to Lead, for entering OEE data and completing various reports related to safety, quality, and productivity
Ensure organized and clean area
Develop knowledge of raw material storage tanks, valving and piping, their contents, actuation and directions of flow
Recognize equipment malfunctions and communicate them to maintenance and management
Other duties as required
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Help with waste disposal
Load up dirty empty drums on trailer
Organize the waste drum area
Participate in inventory and cycle counts as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to follow instructions and direction
Ability to work at a high pace
Ability to stand, walk, bend, turn, squat, reach, climb stairs for 8 – 10 hours per day
Ability to lift up to 55 lbs.
Ability to read and utilize measuring devices
Ability to operate simple hand tools
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
3 years experience compounding
Basic reading and math skills required
H.S. Diploma or equivalent required
Hazwoper or other flammable/combustible training a plus
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES:
Forklift operator certification preferred
Must successfully pass in-house forklift training and certification
