As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in our construction projects by accurately assessing costs and providing detailed estimates. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong negotiation skills and a background in construction estimating to contribute to our success.
Duties
- Analyze project plans and specifications to determine project scope and requirements
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and subcontractors to gather necessary information for accurate estimates
- Prepare detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services
- Review and analyze bids from subcontractors and suppliers
- Negotiate pricing and contracts with subcontractors and suppliers
- Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and identify potential cost-saving opportunities
- Utilize software tools such as Accubid for quantity takeoffs and cost calculations
- Monitor project costs throughout the construction process to ensure adherence to budget
- Collaborate with project management team to develop cost control strategies
- Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices related to construction estimating
- Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and techniques
- Proficiency in using estimating software tools such as Accubid or similar programs
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable pricing from subcontractors and suppliers
- Solid understanding of contract documents, including NEC (National Electrical Code)
- Ability to read and interpret project plans, specifications, and technical drawings
- Familiarity with project management processes and methodologies
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in cost calculations
- Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet deadlines

Experience
- electrical estimation: 5 years (Preferred)
- Accubid: 1 year (Preferred)
- Commercial construction: 5 years (Preferred)
