The basic function of the Designer is to provide customer service and assistance to those interested in purchasing items in the Manufacturing Division sales area, and to accept responsibility for reaching the established Manufacturing Division sales and profit goals.

Responsibilities
The Designer is appointed by and receives authority from the Lead Designer and/or Design Supervisor in the fulfillment of functional responsibilities. This position is granted complete authority necessary to conduct all appropriate individual activities within the Manufacturing Division areas as outlined herein, as well as the authority to:
The Designer is responsible to the Lead Designer and/or Design Supervisor and to the employees and customers of Mathew Hall Lumber Company It is necessary for the Designer to design conduct sales in a manner that will achieve the short and long range sales and profit goals and objectives as established by the Manufacturing and Components Manager. Sufficient authority is delegated by the Lead Designer and/or Design Supervisor to the Designer for the performance of assigned responsibilities including the following:
satisfactory profit margin levels.
Inventory Control Department in fulfilling duties and Company commitments.

- Manage, design and maintain the retail Manufacturing Division areas in a neat, clean, pleasant and attractive fashion.
- Take any reasonable action necessary to carry out the assigned sales and design responsibilities, so long as such action is within established pricing and profit guidelines and does not deviate from established Company or departmental policies and is consistent with sound business judgment and good business practices.
- Contacting the contractor regarding changes in the blueprint, where it is needed.
- On-site negotiations regarding extras, where applicable
- The Designer reports directly to the Lead Designer and/or Design Supervisor.
- There are no other positions reporting directly to this position
The Designer is responsible to the Lead Designer and/or Design Supervisor and to the employees and customers of Mathew Hall Lumber Company It is necessary for the Designer to design conduct sales in a manner that will achieve the short and long range sales and profit goals and objectives as established by the Manufacturing and Components Manager. Sufficient authority is delegated by the Lead Designer and/or Design Supervisor to the Designer for the performance of assigned responsibilities including the following:
- Establish and ensure cleanliness and maintenance of the assigned area(s) of the Manufacturing Division Department consistent with the goals of the Manufacturing and Components Manager. Follow all department policies, rules and regulations, manuals, etc. which set forth the ground rules for maintaining the retail showroom areas.
- Greet and acknowledge customers upon their entrance into the department.
- Qualify customers and Manufacturing Division sales prospects
- Create and promote Company's image through the exercising of sound and ethical business practices as related to other employees, the public, and customers. This includes providing a satisfactory service to all customers.
- Work with other sales managers and sales representatives in other sales areas to maximize Manufacturing Division sales and extend sales of Manufacturing Division items to all the Company customers.
- Meet all legal and regulated obligations as required for the Company, and ensure that all individual and department actions taken meet all Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
- Accurately measure space available for design.
- Visit job sites regularly and as needed to render sales expertise and
- Establish dates and times to meet with individual customers to discuss
- Develop design to present to customer.
- Regularly review customer designs and recommendations with Lead Designer
satisfactory profit margin levels.
- Show designs to customers promptly (within two weeks).
- Follow-through with development of final plans and their implementation.
- Coordinate special order placement with Purchasing and Inventory Control
- Monitor projected special order delivery dates and lead-time schedules, keeping
- Maintain knowledge of components, and other appropriate Manufacturing Division
- Work harmoniously and productively with the Contractor Sales Department,
Inventory Control Department in fulfilling duties and Company commitments.
- Participate in development and training programs as requested.
- Achieve and maintain a thorough working knowledge of the computer systems and
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned and requested by the Lead Designer
- Ensure that security is maintained through alertness and proper control of the
- Ensure that the quality of all products leaving the store and / or being delivered to
- Adhere to all written and established policies and regulations for the company.

- 3 years Experience in MN related building codes and truss design.(alpine preferred)
