Teaching Assistant
We invite you to join our special purpose private school serving young children with special needs, aged Pre-K through grade 5. The Fraser-Ford Child Development Center, owned and operated by Waban, is a year-round school-based behavioral health day treatment program. FFCDC is seeking dedicated professionals to provide individualized instruction to children with autism, developmental disabilities, and other behavioral health needs in our clinically intensive center-based program. Under the supervision of a Certified Special Education Teacher and Board-Certified Behavior Analysts, the Teaching Assistant provides direct instruction in social, behavioral, emotional, functional, and academic skills within an Applied Behavior Analysis model as well as works alongside the classroom teacher in the overall management of the classroom. The Teaching Assistant also helps complete student assessments and provide training and support for staff. Our team of professionals also includes licensed clinicians, occupational therapists, and speech language providers. FFCDC offers high quality training in order to promote continuous learning, professional development, and the delivery of high-quality services to children and their families, within a safe and supportive environment.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in early childhood, special education or related field OR a minimum of 90 college credits and 2 years’ experience required. Preference given to candidates with experience, Ed Tech III certification, and School-Based Behavioral Health Professional certification. Waban will facilitate obtaining these certifications, and provide paid BHP training, for candidates in need of these certifications.
