Position: Quality Control Testing Technician
Travel: Some travel required
We are currently seeking a Project Coordinator to join our Wagman Construction, Inc team. Reporting to the Project Manager, the Project Coordinator is responsible for project administration, scheduling, and engineering. This position works along with the entire Project Team to plan and support the completion of assigned construction engineering projects and ensures all plans move forward to meet projected deadlines. This is a safety sensitive position requiring work on construction sites with various safety hazards inherent in heavy construction.
This position is subject to drug testing and compliance policies associated with our status as a Federal Contractor.
Wagman is a multi-faceted construction firm with operations in heavy civil, general construction and geotechnical construction services. Founded in 1902, Wagman is a fourth generation, family-owned company with offices in Pennsylvania and Virginia. As a heavy civil contractor, Wagman is a nationally recognized leader in the industry. Core competencies include: design-build, infrastructure, marine construction, modified concrete, grooving and grinding, and geotechnical construction services.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required, Associate’s degree in technical field preferred
- Three (3) years of experience performing quality and inspection responsibilities for heavy highway and bridge projects.
- Working knowledge of testing methods and standards associated with quality control for heavy highway and bridge projects.
Essential Functions
- Perform the testing and sampling at each project, sharing results to be uploaded in the document management system.
- Coordinate with the Quality inspection and testing staff to monitor the quality of workmanship and adherence to contract documents
- Document daily QC activities as part of daily reporting.
- Perform material sampling, ensuring that materials meet the required specifications.
- Obtain material certifications or, if the material appears to be questionable when delivered, recommend sampling or testing by an outside certified lab.
- Provide consistent and professional communication with team regarding site observations, procedures, and testing results.
Physical Requirements of the Essential Functions
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds from ground level to waist level.
- Frequent standing and walking required throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to climb ladders.
- Must be able to work at heights up to 150 feet
- Must be able to bend, squat, and kneel occasionally throughout a scheduled work shift.
- Must be able to perform simple grasping and fine manipulation tasks with both hands.
- Must have the ability to reach, lift and perform work above shoulder height - and the ability to work on uneven surfaces and in confined spaces
- Required to have acceptable corrected vision (in both eyes) and acceptable corrected hearing.
- Must be able to work outdoors in wet, muddy, cold, hot and humid weather
