POSITION SUMMARY
The individual in this role is responsible for performing thorough research on original equipment (OE) samples to gather accurate and comprehensive product information. This information is then stored in the company's database and utilized for cataloging, marketing, and product development purposes.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date OE information is maintained in the company's data systems, including bill of materials, interchanges/cross-references, applications, pictures, and technical specifications.
- Generate product specification documents for sourcing, manufacturing, and procurement of products to be sold globally.
- Resolve any issues related to conflicting or incomplete data through thorough research and investigation.
- Conduct periodic product evaluations and compare them against OE samples to ensure consistency and quality.
- Review quality incidents and non-conformances related to specific product information and take necessary actions for resolution.
- Perform disassembly and reassembly of samples during research and evaluation processes.
- Conduct testing on samples to extract actual data and gather specifications.
- Maintain a library of physical product samples for reference and analysis.
- Support the Strategic Business Unit team in driving new product development initiatives.
- Perform any other duties as assigned to support the overall goals and objectives of the company.
- Provide assistance to the Strategic Business Unit team in driving new product development efforts.
- Promote a collaborative work environment, encouraging effective communication and cross-training initiatives to enhance team productivity, versatility, and skill development.
- Undertakes additional responsibilities and tasks as directed by management.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience, & Skills required)
- Associates Degree or Technical School Degree.
- 7 years of research experience in the automotive or similar field.
- Ability to work with hand tools and basic knowledge of DC electrical systems.
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Access, and Outlook) experience; Photo processing software experience
- Expert knowledge of all facets of print and digital sales and marketing.
- Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities.
- Capable of following instructions and responding to management direction.
- Detail-oriented and able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Exhibits experience working collaboratively in a team environment.
- Possesses strong verbal and written communication skills
