Wakefield EMS is eagerly accepting applications for our Assistant EMS Chief position!
This role is negotiable for administrative time only or a combination of administrative and clinical time.
Administrative Duties Include:
- Shared oversight and management of the entire leadership team with the EMS Chief
- Contract negotiations and agency agreements
- Representation and presenting at township meetings in our primary service areas
- Time as the on-call daily clinical supervisor
- Management of disciplinary actions as needed
- Coordination with the Human Resources coordinator in the hiring of new employees and volunteers
- Presenting at monthly board of director meetings
- Serving as a liaison between the clinical staff and the Chief of EMS and Board of Directors
Requirements:
- Valid Pennsylvania EMT certification or above with EMSVO endorsement (or the ability to obtain prior to starting the position)
- Current BLS CPR
- FEMA IS 100, 200, 700, and 800 courses
- HazMat Awareness
- Driver’s License
- The willingness to work with a close-knit dedicated team of EMS providers

Wakefield EMS is a small hybrid volunteer and paid staff EMS organization in Southern Lancaster County functioning at the IALS level. Wakefield EMS serves residents in Drumore, East Drumore, Fulton, and Little Britain Townships, running over 800 calls for service a year.
