Position Information:
WakeMed currently seeking physicians to join our oncology team in providing comprehensive cancer care through the expansion of our oncology service team in the Raleigh area. The WakeMed Cancer Center will include medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiation oncology and gynecologic oncology. We will offer a full breadth of services to the community under the guidance of our Chief of Oncology and provide a complete support team including experienced nurses specialized in chemotherapy treatment, genetic counselors, nutritionists, pharmacists, behavioral health and social work resources. The medical oncology program will build upon the existing imaging, pathology, surgical and procedural (both diagnostic and therapeutic) services currently provided in a vast array of clinical specialties at WakeMed, including: Breast, Thoracic, Urologic, Gastrointestinal, Colorectal, Head and Neck, Hematology and more. WakeMeds expanded services will collaborate and compliment other Oncology services in the market and will provide cancer patients greater access to comprehensive, coordinated, patient-centered care, closer to home. Physicians with subspecialty expertise in benign/malignant hematology, Head/Neck cancer, neuro-oncology, gyn malignancy, GI/GU malignancy and comfortable practicing full spectrum of Hematology/Solid Tumor Oncology are of particular interest but we are also open to general hematology/oncology. Our ideal candidates will have at least 3 years clinical experience and will consider candidates within 3 years from completion of Hematology/Oncology fellowship based on a preferred disease focus of benign/malignant hematology.
