Asset Protection Investigator Responsibilities
Safety & Security
- Conduct the Monthly Security Tour and work with your AP Ops Coach or Store Manager to address exceptions and put solutions in place
- With your AP Ops Coach or Store Manager, hold regular training sessions with associates to review Safety and Security practices
- Conduct monthly emergency exit inspection, fire extinguisher inspection, emergency lighting inspection
- Conduct quarterly fire sprinkler test
- Compile all relevant video, and other relevant evidence, for Accident files
In-Stock Protection
- Review queries from AP Hub for Scanned Stolen, On Hand Adjustments, and Return on Protection, and look for theft trends.
- Review Merchandise Protection solution plans in place, and the execution of the plans, for effectiveness
- Teach and train associates on how to correctly apply merchandise protection devices
- Provide solutions to your AP Ops Coach on how to impact the top theft items and categories
- Partner with your AP Ops Coach, Store Manager, and AP Ops Lead to build a business case for the Merchandise Protection Plan exception
Internal Investigations
- Review Work Items in Secure Apollo generated on your work tile
- Review Cashier Impact Report in Secure Apollo for cashiers highlighted in red
- Utilize Quick Look-ups in Secure Apollo to review different cashier behaviors such as Line Voids, Refunds, Price Overrides, Handkeys, Cashier-Own-Tender, Aborts and Suspends, 1 Action Codes, etc.
- Review Optik-AI for exceptions and identify malicious behaviors or training opportunities
- Review Reg Long/Short Tool & Recycler Query to identify malicious cash loss
- Review Scanned Stolen items to identify items for potential internal cases (i.e. items from locking cases like iPhones etc.)
- Tour backroom and associate areas looking for empty packages
- Review Return Audit Query for audit results failed, matching operator numbers, etc.
External Investigations
- Apprehend shoplifting suspects following AP-09
- Promptly complete all loss events in Auror
- Review newsfeed in Auror for area specific information.
