What are the responsibilities and job description for the TI Superintendent position at Walsh Construction Co.?

We are searching for a Tenant Improvement Superintendent with an interest in working on a variety of construction types including commercial, office, retail, and multifamily housing.
This person will be part of a collaborative team that values long-standing client relationships and completing profitable, fast-paced projects often in an occupied environment.
The position will provide development for the individual while working in unity with the rest of the project team to ensure that work is done safely, quality standards are upheld, and production is maximized in a manner that aligns with our company values.
Responsibilities include:
- Safety – Review site specific safety plans from subcontractors, create occupied construction safety plans specifically with tenants and the public in mind, and manage all aspects of safety on the jobsite.
- Production and Quality – Ensure that work is performed efficiently while maintaining the highest level of quality.
- Schedule – Build schedules in Microsoft Project, create short-term lookahead schedules as needed for ownership, regularly communicate important milestones or potential impacts to all stakeholders, and effectively manage to meet all completion dates.
- Budget – Review initial budget with Project Manager to understand project goals and limitations, and continually look for ways to be more cost-effective with labor/materials/equipment.
- Team Relations - Manage your on-site project team alongside the Project Manager, proactively and effectively communicate with all team members, and cultivate a positive work environment.
Qualifications include:
- High school diploma (or equivalent). Some higher education in Construction Management procedures preferred.
- Three or more years of experience with commercial, office, retail, or healthcare construction projects.
- Experience managing projects in an occupied environment.
- The ability to manage multiple projects in different phases of construction.
- Strong time management, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to read, speak and understand English.
- Ability to read plans.
- Physical ability to use telephone, operate computer and keyboard, walk for continuous periods of time on uneven surfaces, climb stairs and ladders and carry/lift items up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Adequate knowledge of Windows, MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
