Scope:
The HR Generalist requires the ability to be accurate, timely, proactive, articulate and detailed. It also requires someone who is passionate about caring for internal customers and seeing them succeed to their fullest potential. The duties and characteristics of a successful HR Generalist include: actions and attitudes in line with our company’s core values; communicating with internal and external customers with poise and professionalism; updating, maintaining and modernizing HR files, policies, procedures, employee handbook, compliance, job descriptions, and employee benefits; manages workman’s comp claims; recruits, onboards, and offboards internal customers; champions employee engagement and employee training; timely and accurate payroll for our employees.
Responsibilities:
- HR Generalist
- Update, maintain and modernize HR files, policies, procedures, employee handbook, compliance, job descriptions, employee benefits, quarterly and annual review, and workman’s comp claims, all in the framework of the EOS model
- Develop and blossom relationships with all internal employees and champion employee engagement and trainings through various forms and methods
- Recruit, onboard, and offboard internal customers; improve/update these processes and procedures
- Add employees to payroll and check for accuracy in payroll entries
- Accurately fill and send out necessary paperwork, such as employment verifications, child support paperwork, health insurance paperwork, applications of various types, etc.
- Attend and participate in meetings and trainings
- Work to improve the processes and workflow of the hr department
- Perform all other duties as needed or requested to ensure the overall success of Walters Services, Inc.

- Overall accuracy, efficiency and quality of the normal duties and functions assigned, as described in the above responsibilities section

- Successful teamwork and collaboration within the hr department and all other teams and departments of Walters Services Inc. i.e. excellent internal and external customer service
- The ability to effectively present and communicate information to the customers, and personnel within Walters Services, Inc.
- Attendance, employee has not taken excessive time off and put a burden on others to back up their responsibilities
- Employee has participated in regular training programs to improve the ability to accomplish their job description
Qualifications:
Education & Experience
- Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
- Preferred: a Master’s or Bachelor's degree in a related field, five years of proven human resources
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

Supervisory Responsibility
- This position is accountable to the Integrator and Visionary of Walters Services, Inc.
Work Environment
- The HR Generalist will be exposed to outside varying temperatures and weather conditions, hot, cold, wet, and humid with exposure to moderate to very loud noise and shall work most of the time in an office environment. The HR Generalist must adhere to all safety protocols.
Physical Demands
- The HR Generalist must have a full range of bodily motion as much standing, sitting, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, typing, grasping, climbing, and descending stairs, step stools and the ability to carry up to 30 pounds, and assisted safe lifting of larger items up to 30 pounds.
Mental
- This position requires analytical reasoning, the ability to calmly and professionally reason and deal with problems involving simple and concrete variables. Language requirements must be able to communicate clearly at all business levels.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
- This is a full time non-exempt position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 40 hours a week, per work schedule and customer needs. A ½ hour lunch period is required but is not covered as paid time.
Travel
- This position may require travel within Walters Services, Inc. service area.
