Looking for a pleasant individual to Host or Hostess in our Dining Room, from 3pm -7pm.

Position Summary:
The Host is responsible for greeting and guiding residents to their seats in a friendly, professional, and efficient manner that contributes to a high quality culinary experience. This position presents clean menus to residents and treats all residents in a manner that ensures complete satisfaction. Additionally, the Host is responsible for informing residents of daily specials and any other important messages related to dining. This position reports to the Dining Room Supervisor and resides in the Culinary department. Our Hosts are committed to consistently welcoming our residents in a way that sets the tone for the evening to be a positive and enjoyable occasion. They enjoy building an excellent rapport with our residents.

Our Culinary Department provides nourishing and delicious meals that are served in a warm and inviting environment. The department operates with the knowledge that meals and food activities are a crucial part of every residents day. Delivering a memorable dining experience for our residents is our top priority.

Main Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Greet and seat residents, present menus to residents, and inform them of daily specials and any other dining messaging.
• Treat all guests in a kind, courteous, and professional manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strive to exceed guests' expectations.
• Review and be familiar with residents dining restrictions.
• Assist with clearing dishes, pouring water and coffee, and serving meals as needed.
• Observe tables and keep track of clean, dirty, and occupied tables.
• Interact with guests as they arrive and leave the dining room to ensure a positive dining experience.
• Manage the carry out and delivery order process, as well as the reservation system for the dining room.
• Maintain high standards of personal and dining area cleanliness (wash hands, change gloves, etc.), sanitation, and safety standards.
• Assist with all other duties as assigned by the Dining Room Supervisor.

Job Requirements:

• Prior host/hostess experience in the hospitality industry preferred.
• Working knowledge of dining etiquette.
• Knowledge of proper food service sanitation techniques.
• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Constant use of manual dexterity, auditory and visual skills and gross motor skills with frequent use of bi-manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
• Ability to follow written and oral instructions and procedures.
• Ability to reach, bend, twist, squat, kneel, push and pull.
• Ability to lift/carry up to 30 pounds.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements including simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation.
• Occasional sitting, frequent walking and constant standing.
