What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Instructor position at Warrenton-Hammond SD 30?
This position oversees classroom management, plans academic lessons as well as organizes and leads activities designed to promote physical, mental and social development. Preschool Instructor will also supervise staff. Position is seven hours per day (7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m.), five days per week and follows the school district calendar. Salary is for 195 days (185 work days and 10 paid holidays) from late-August to mid-June.
Candidate must have one of the following:
1) At least 750 hours of qualified teaching experience in a Certified Child Care Center or a comparable group care program
2) One year or 1,500 hours of qualifying teaching experience in Registered Family or Certified Family Child Care
3) Documentation of attaining at least step 6 in the Oregon registry or 9 quarter credits in two CKCs
4) A minimum of an Associate degree from a college or university with a major in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, Human Development or Child and Family Studies
5) A state or nationally recognized credential, e.g. Child Development Associate (CDA) related to preschool-age care
