EXHALL GRANGE SPECIALIST SCHOOL
Are you an inspirational leader who is passionate about ensuring the best outcomes for all pupils regardless of ability or additional need?
Our current Headteacher is retiring at the end of the Summer term after 11 years of dedicated and inspirational leadership. We are therefore looking to appoint a strong, dynamic and highly effective Headteacher to start September 2022.
About the school
Exhall Grange Specialist School is a Warwickshire maintained county-wide specialist provision for pupils aged between 4 and 19 situated on the outskirts of Coventry. The school meets the needs of pupils who are unable to access the curriculum in a mainstream school owing to their sensory impairment or physical disabilities, the impact of long-term illness or social communication difficulties including autism.
About You
The successful candidate will be an experienced and effective leader who is committed to collaborative working. You will have a passion for recognising potential in children with complex needs and creating and maintaining a safe and nurturing environment where they can be their best selves. You will have excellent knowledge of the Ofsted Framework, be fully conversant with inspection requirements, and be well informed on all relevant legislation including the Children and Families Act 2014, the SEND code of practice: 0 to 25 years and the various associated Regulations.
You must have a proven track record of raising the expectations and achievements of your pupils and your staff, with a passion for driving aspiration and vision within a school.
You must have experience of involvement and collaborative working with agencies and organisations outside your school which influence the school’s operation and strategic direction.
You must have Qualified Teacher Status [QTS]. Applications from those holding the National Professional Qualification for Headship [NPQH] are encouraged but this is not a requirement for the post.
The post holder will lead and inspire the school leadership team, recognise and develop individual talents in your staff and ensure an effective and resilient organisational structure.
They will work closely with School Governors and the Warwickshire Local Authority to deliver a Strategic Plan that is always responsive to changing Special Educational needs, actively promotes the continuing improvement of the educational and therapeutic provision and maintains the ‘Can do’ and caring ethos of Exhall Grange Specialist School.
This is a challenging, rewarding and exciting opportunity within a well-established Specialist School.
