What are the responsibilities and job description for the Physician Assistant position at Wasatch Pain Solutions?
Interventional Pain Clinic in South Jordan, UT seeking full-time mid-level provider (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner) with great work ethic, team mentality, with innovative and excellent patient care skills. Clinic hours are Monday - Thursday, 8:00 am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:00 am to 1:00 pm. Competitive compensation and benefit package included.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
- Ability to operate with autonomy while supporting the supervising physician for the care of a large patient population
- Conducting outpatient new patient consultations, medication management, post-procedure follow ups, bedside procedures with and without ultrasonography (trigger point injections, joint injections, intrathecal pump refills)
- Assessing patients at all stages of disease progression from acute spine disease to chronic post-laminectomy syndrome, Complex Regional Pain Syndrome, or cancer-related pain through clinical interview, examination, and review of diagnostic information
- Developing comprehensive patient care plans, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies (imaging, EMG, labs), coordinating interventional or surgical treatments, managing pharmacotherapy
- Recommending and providing patient education on interventional pain procedures performed in the office by supervising physician (spine injections, nerve ablations, joint injections, peripheral nerve blocks, sympathetic blocks, vertebral augmentation, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, intrathecal drug pumps)
- Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies
Ideal candidates have a strong foundation and knowledge of:
- general pharmacology with command of opioid management; experience with buprenorphine is preferred, but not required
- central and peripheral nervous systems and musculoskeletal anatomy, physiology, and pathophysiology
- interventional pain procedures to recommend based on clinical presentation, indications, general process, expected outcome, potential complications
- how to contribute to physician's effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-term patient care issues that must be addressed; providing information and commentary pertinent to deliberations
- recommending options and courses of action; implementing physician directives
- documentation needed to support recommended treatments
- how to communicate in an effective and cordial manner with consulting healthcare providers
- how to contribute to professional development of staff team members by providing information, educational opportunities, and experiential growth opportunities

Pay: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
