Intake Coordinator

Reports Directly to: Division Directors: Outpatient and CSP

Description: This full-time, benefitted, position provides intake assessment and coordination to people entering adult mental health services at WCMHS.  The Intake Coordinator collaborates across Adult Programs, consulting on level of care, and eligibility for select programs. In addition, the Intake Coordinator consults and supervises clinicians on assessment, recommendations and treatment planning in the adult outpatient program, along with providing individual and group therapy to a small case load.  Balancing independent, clinical judgements with a team approach to assessment and care, this position requires strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities:

Center for Counseling and Psychological Services (CCPS) duties:

• Completing CCPS initial interviews and managing the interview team
• Communicating with hospitals, clients, and community providers.
• Scheduling initial interviews:
  • managing the weekly schedule with the interview team,
  • providing follow-up and input into triaging on complex initial interviews
• Providing direct service, including intake and level of care assessments
• Attending various staff meetings and committee meetings on a weekly to quarterly basis
• Participating as a member of the CCPS Management Team

Community Support Program (CSP) duties:

• Screening for CSP eligibility, which includes:
  • Assessing for whether individuals meet the eligibility criteria
  • Communicating with clients, hospitals, and other community providers
  • Providing information to referral sources on community and agency resources
  • Performing CSP intakes as well as assigning CSP intakes to members of the intake team
  • Managing the intake team schedule. Scheduling and facilitating quarterly intake team meetings
  • Providing training to CSP intake team on screening & assessment-related topics

• Attending various staff meetings and committee meetings on a weekly to quarterly basis.
• Participating as a member of the CSP Management Team
• Providing direct service to CSP clients
• Coordinating psycho-educational materials for staff and CSP consumers

Qualifications:

Required: MSW or other relevant Master’s level education.  Three to five years of experience conducting assessments of persons with mental health and substance abuse concerns. Must be rostered as a psychotherapist and license eligible as a mental health professional.

Desirable/Preferred: LICSW or other professional licensure. Three to five years of experience with assessment, DSM diagnosis, evaluation, consultation and communication with team members including community providers. Strong record keeping and organizational skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products.
