The Senior Events Manager at the Washington Hilton will execute written sales agreements for complex full-service meetings, conventions, and events with an elevated level of customer service. The ideal candidate will be an energetic team player with at least 2 years of full-service event experience. Experience in the local market and with hotels would be preferred. 

The Washington Hilton is located less than 2 miles away from The White House and National Mall.  Our 118,000 square feet of event space is carefully laid out over three floors. Highlights include a pillarless ballroom with rigging for lights, a private lounge with luxury seating, and an outdoor courtyard area complete with a firepit.

What will I be doing?

Communicate clearly between customers and the hotel by directing each department within the hotel as to their specific role in the pre-planning and execution of on-site events. Maximize revenue and control expenses through effective negotiation of services and accurate forecasting. Responsible for successful execution of all meetings and events to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty.

Essential Job Functions:

**Prepare reports, correspondence, and analysis relative to Event activity such as call reports, forecasts, menu proposals, customer correspondence, banquet event orders, resumes, post event reports, and internal memos or communications.

**Direct guestroom, meeting, and event logistics to respective departments and team members.

**Manage customer relationships in a proactive manner relative to pricing, payment structure, room block, food and beverage requirements, public room rental and exhibit hall fees, incremental and affiliate revenue streams, performance damages and master billing process.

**Analyze and plan for customers’ service and product needs relative to the financial and operational needs requirements of the property.

**Authorize appropriate resolution of customers’ concerns while maintaining profitability.

**Direct and assist with customer services via site visits, board meetings, menu tastings, and planning meetings for definite and potential groups.

**Supports the Departmental Leaders with daily operations such as customer conflict resolution, interaction with Sales Team, generation of reports, monthly forecast, and menu meetings.

**Participate in internal and external training and industry events, Customer Focused Events, Front Line Leadership, CPR, etc.

**Participates in development and measurement of personal and team goals and action plans.

Show competence by completing job responsibilities effectively and efficiently.

Demonstrate an ability to follow a prescribed sequence of service with each encounter.

Take initiative, be willing to assume responsibility for exceeding guests’ expectations.
