Operates a company service truck and driving to various locations to service/pump/clean portable restrooms or holding tanks. Work is performed under supervision and performance is reviewed while in progress and upon completion through direct observation of routes, and discussion of problems.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Safely drives service truck to and from pre-designated work sites based on daily routing information in accordance with Decision Driving principles.
  1. Delivers and returns portable restrooms, service portable restrooms, holding tanks, sinks, showers, etc., at various work sites by following the Company's servicing guidelines. Drains moisture trap, oil catch muffler, and maintains oil level in pump. Empty truck at pump station as needed.
  1. Restock paper products, hand sanitizer, soap, etc. in units being serviced.
  1. Clean interior and exterior of units, makes repairs of needed, and adds chemical solution to portable restroom units.
  1. Provides Distinguishably Different level of service through courteous and expeditious customer service in all aspects of service to customers. Exhibits a positive attitude towards company, customer and municipal goals.
  1. Answers questions for customers and directs them to contact Customer Service or Dispatch for additional information
  1. Performs Daily Pre and Post Trip inspections as set forth by Waste Pro procedures and D.O.T. guidelines. Completes Safety Lane activity and DVIR daily in accordance with Waste Pro safety lane guidelines. Includes inspection under hood, check under carriage, check fluid levels and air tires.
  1. Maintains clean truck and washes exterior weekly. Inspect/Clean Truck: Lift hood, inspect under the hood, walk around and check under carriage; pump gas, check fluid levels and air tires - Uses air gauge, dipstick for levels, and gas pump nozzle for gas fill.
  1. Prepares, maintains, and submits required company and regulation-mandated reports and documents;
  1. Performs other tasks as required -- such as, but not limited to, assisting other routes for completion, attending community events, or delivery of bins and/or carts.
  1. Responsible for all persons working on vehicle during the designated route.
  1. Must comply with all Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  1. May be required to work during emergency situations.

  • Employees in this job classification must attend and participate in corporation sponsoredtraining coursesas assigned.
  • Employees in this job classification are responsible for keeping up to date on current technology, as job appropriate, being used by Waste Pro USA.
  • Any additional job duties that may be assigned by the Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a Class A or B CDL with tanker endorsement valid for the state in which the position works. Requires a clean driving record meeting Waste Pro driving guidelines.
  • At least 1 year of previous experience operating a vehicle requiring a CDL within the past 7 (seven) years.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age or older.
  • Understand refuse collection policies, procedures, guidelines and practices; understanding of Department of Transportation and State requirements for operators of commercial motor vehicles.
  • Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction.
  • See in the normal visual range with or without correction.
  • Exhibit normal range of body motion.
  • Drive a straight truck with tank observing legal and defensive driving practices.
  • Manipulate heavy equipment control levers.
  • Follow a designated collection route or work schedule;
  • Understand and carry out oral and written instructions;
  • Maintain written records and service responses.
  • Hepatitis B vaccination required.
  • Must be able to speak and read English well enough to communicate with customers, co-workers, dispatch and super visors, understand highway and traffic signals, and be able to make legible entries on paperwork.

Work Environment:
