What are the responsibilities and job description for the Painter position at Wastequip?
Wastequip has an opening for an Industrial Painter to support the Eagleville, TN location. This is a full time position with great benefits including but not limited to Health Insurance, 401K Plan, Paid Vacation / Sick time, and so much more.
The ideal Candidate should be familiar with using an airless paint finishing system in a fast-paced production environment, where they will spray surfaces of machines, manufactured products, or working area with protective / decorative material such as paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat, or lacquer.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Cleans grease and dirt from product
- Applies masking tape over parts and areas that are not to be coated
- Fills cavities and dents with putty to attain smooth surface
- Selects and mixes coating liquid to produce desired color
- Pours coating liquid into spray container and connects gun to air hose
- Turns sprayer valves and nozzle to regulate width and pressure of spray
- Pulls trigger and directs spray onto work surface to apply prime or finish coat
- Coats areas inaccessible to hand sprayer with brush
- Heats and sprays wax onto products after they are tested
- Removes rust from metal with acid, wire brush, or steel wool
- Starts grinder and moves it over the surface of the workpiece to remove scratches, laminated metal, and excess weld material
- Other job duties may be assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience using an Airless Paint Finishing System or similar
- Experience painting metal surfaces, machinery and / or manufactured products
- Experience using paint, enamel, glaze, gel-coat or lacquer
- Preferred experience in a fast paced production environment
- Be able to work standing up for most of the shift
